Starting to get the feel of Second Life

I have been roaming around in Second Life now for a few days just getting a feel of how this program works.  I was doing a lot of traveling, such as going to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and checking out art galleries that render famous art pieces into second life such as the photo I have taken of "Nighthawks," painting by Edward Hopper created in 1942.  I actually got the chance to move around in the diner and be technically inside the painting.  I have always adored this painting, but this was just like experiencing it for the first time again.

In class, we had instruction of creating signs out of prisms that could technically show off our artwork.  I was able to create a bulletin board that had an interesting triangle shape based that it sat upon.  After learning how to make that, I feel real confident now that I could build some pretty spectacular things in Second Life.

We continued to look around as a class in different environments that showcased expert artists in Second Life with the worlds they've created.  I was starting to understand everything now just through the crash course in building the bulletin board, so that was a major advancement in the knowledge of this program!

Until next time!
